What is Community 642?

Union County Girl Scouts are part of the larger GSHPA council, and a section of the "North" region for Girl Scouts in the Heart of PA. Girls and adults in Union County are active in the communities of Lewisburg, Mifflinburg, New Berlin, Laurelton, Harleton, and Mazeppa. Girls are provided with Girl Scout programs in a variety of meeting times and places. We welcome new leaders and volunteers. Community service involvement includes Girls participating each winter in a project called, "Hug A Child", where troops choose children from the SUMCD, Inc. Early Head Start program and shop for a child during the holidays. Troops also are welcome to attend the Susquehanna Valley Mall Girl Scout Birthday Event each year in March. Girls provide activities and have stage time based on a theme that is chosen by the mall and an adult committee. Each Spring, girls participate in a Campus Theater movie event called, PJ's and a Movie that takes place in the morning during Girl Scout week. Girls are encouraged to donate items to local charitable organizations in need. Most of all, Girl Scouts in Union County have FUN!
